Set up Cline
For the Cline extension, open provider settings, choose OpenAI Compatible and enter your endpoint, key and model for both Plan and Act. For Cline CLI, close Cline and merge the following two files in ~/.cline/data (Windows: %USERPROFILE%\.cline\data). The CLI adapter uses the root URL without /v1. Keep secrets.json private. Restore both backups to reset.
Option 1: Use Configure
Cline CLI keeps settings and credentials in separate files. This helper does not yet update that pair together; use the extension’s settings or edit both files below.
Configuration file location
- macOS
~/.cline/data/globalState.json- Linux
~/.cline/data/globalState.json- Windows
%USERPROFILE%\.cline\data\globalState.json
These are default locations. For a tool running in WSL, use its Linux path inside WSL. If you changed the configuration directory, select the tool’s actual file. Your browser can only read or write files you select.
Option 2: Configure manually
Back up your files and replace only the placeholders shown below. Codex already uses gpt-5.6-sol. Use model names without router prefixes such as cx/. Keep tool-required local provider bindings such as larouter/ where shown, and preserve unrelated settings.
